Adolescence is an exciting, sometimes turbulent time that can leave parents stressed, anxious, and frustrated. Many teens face difficult choices regarding school, peers, alcohol, drugs, and sex. For some, these challenges are exacerbated by learning differences, problems with executive functioning, or mood and anxiety issues. Our team provides both evaluation and treatment services to support teens and their parents throughout the tween, teen, and early adult years.
Evaluations are helpful when students are having difficulty managing academic demands or are not performing to their potential in the classroom or on tests. Therapy is generally indicated for managing symptoms of anxiety and depression, improving frustration tolerance, handling social pressure, coping with negative peer experiences, improving relationships with family members, and developing a healthy sense of self.
